ABOUT

Naomi Griffin is a 24 year old artist from Hollywood, California who has been drawing since she could remember. Without the aid of teachers, she spent most of her early life learning realism through repetition to escape the hard cards she was dealt in life; her mother having cancer. Finally finding a mentor in 2017, Rob Prior has been helping her expand her knowledge and interests of the arts in every direction, truly taking her under his wing after her mother passed in 2019. With the drive that she had after her mother died, she flourished. After years of limiting herself to graphite pencil work, she now primarily uses gouache on watercolor paper. Currently, she manages Rob Priors studio, live paints at events, and teaches other artists to find their soul in their work as she did, while continuing to sculpt her own career.
Naomi Griffin

"The style of my work derives from the constant battle in my head of detail from an overthinking mind that’s hellbent on escape, and the loose grip that we all have on life and reality. The only control we have is that of ourselves, our actions, our perception of the world, where, when and what we place on the brush. The war in my head leaves emotion trailing behind. That is what I paint with; love, loss, heartbreak, regret, memory, everything. Though at the same time, when I do paint, I am no longer there. That is the void I escape to. Nothing and everything."
